Extreme care in the first trimester?

I understand that pregnancy calls for good care! But why is everyone asking me to be extremely careful (superlative). I have just entered the 5th week of pregnancy. Can I conduct the regular household chores carefully?

Thanks for your suggestions. Ofcourse my husband is helping me through wherever possible. Just that I am little obsessed with cleanliness. Sure I won't lift any heavy object. Vacuum cleaning is what I depend on. Will keep the room well ventilated too.

And like raisingtwoson said, make sure you're in a well ventilated area when using chemicals. I myself like to stay away from all the harsh ones like Clorox, and lime away and whatnot just to be safe.

There's a much greater chance.of miscarriage in the first trimester. I honestly didn't even know I was pregnant with this or my first until I was.almost in my second trimester and everything luckily turned out fine for me and the babes, bc I was still drinking and smoking and just doing whatever I liked completely unaware I was pregnant. I definitely got lucky that both my babies are perfectly healthy and never had any kind of complication (of course I took.much better care.of.myself once.I found out). So yes you should take it easy and stay healthy but you can still do your everyday activities, just with a little more care. No heavy lifting though.

You're fine! You just need to be careful what you put into your body because your baby's vital organs are developing. Don't breathe in too much of cleaning materials but as long as the windows are open or a good breeze youre good to go!
