Thanks ladies so much for your tips and suggestions. Today has been better than yesterday. :)
I'm just over 20 weeks and have been sick all the way through so far, ended up in hospital on fluids through an IV line in my arm :( if you want some then definitely see if can get anti sickness meds, i have antacids too (ranitidine) which seem to help. Eating little and often helps me too, dry snacks such as crackers and plain biscuits. Make sure you keep drinking though, I became more ill because I couldn't get water in me and then keep it down. Somehow baby still gets what it needs and grows so try not to worry, I know it's easy for me to say as I worried as too x
That sounds like standard morning sickness to me. I wouldn't eat full meals - I find grazing through out the day is best and if you are hungry and don't eat it makes you that much more likely to keep getting sick! I started with bad morning sickness at 5 weeks and it has tapered off here and there (not taking anything for nausea). I only get sick if I feel hungry (weird I know) or smell/see something unappealing - now I make sure I never have an empty tummy by eating small meals/snacks throughout the day.
I also started taking B6 in the morning - in addition to my prenatal vitamins. I would check in with your doc/midwife if you are concerned. Some people lose weight in their first trimester because of morning sickness. I drink a ton of water with lemon in it and drink it all day and I find that helps, I also chew on crystallized ginger candies before I eat if I am feeling pukey.
This may sound weird - but usually after I get sick I am able to eat food and keep it down with absolutely no problem. I have learned that while pregnancy is beautiful it is also completely weird and disgusting!
I don't go to the the 21st but I definitely plan on asking for some medicine for this. Thanks for the preggy pops I know nothing abt this. Can I get them at Walmart? I've drunk a 7up and feel much better and I was able to keep boiled eggs down.
It's probably just normal morning sickness, but you may need a prescription for a nausea medication. In the meantime, have you tried drinking vernors, preggy pops or saltine crackers?
