I believe I have the same thing. I'm 39wks 2days & have been getting random, sharp, quick pains. Was told it's fine & baby is getting ready. The midwife referred to it as lightning crotch, which was hilarious in my opinion & definitely what it's comparable to! Lol

I have had that in 2 out of 4 pregnancies. I'm currently 34 weeks with 4, it's the baby moving down into your pelvis and pushing on your cervix. My second child did it, fist and third didn't and now this one does it. Currently my daughter is sitting very low and due to some bleeding and early dilation combined with where she was when my dr checked me thursday, he could feel her head and they think she may come early. Thankfully due to the bleeding from a fibroid 2 weeks ago I had steroid shots and am on bed rest(well as much as I can be with 3 kids) she has stayed put. But just know it's not abnormal, I mentioned it to my ob Thursday also and it's normal...just them getting prepped and moving down.

ive had that since I think 7 months and I still dnt know what causes it... :/ when I wud research on google some would say its 'lightening' which is when baby is engaging and dropping into position.  however, when I asked my midwife about the stabbing pain in my cervix she looked at me like I was asking her a weird question and she told me that it cudnt be the cervix and that probably the baby was sitting on a nerve...
