First Trimester weight gain

Hello. I am 8-9 weeks pregnant with my first (although with this sickness I feel like I've been pregnant forever!). Don't get me wrong, I am feeling blessed to be pregnant as I had a miscarriage back in December. I am a small girl and honestly didn't eat too much daily before finding out I was pregnant. Not because of a weight issue, just no huge appetite. Well, I've been so sick lately (throwing up all day, everyday) and the only thing that seems to help a little is food. I've tried to keep it healthy but honestly the only things that seem to work are starches with worries me. I don't want to gain a ton of unnecessary weight this soon along. Any advice? Thanks!

When I was in my first trimester I felt the same way. I was sick pretty much everyday until 14 weeks. I found the same thing, there was one week that I could only stomach hash browns. I ate whatever would stay done healthy or fatty and still lost 7kgs in that trimester. Once the nausea went away I stuck to healthy foods with occasional treats and honestly I think I have only gained back those 7kgs that I lost plus maybe 2 Kgs.

I really wouldn't worry about weight gain hun, Unless obviously you are going out eating KFC and mcdonalds and rubbish like that which is full of fat and salt.
If you eat sensibly it really won't be an issue with my first pregnancy i put on a 46 pounds i ate a healthy well balanced diet but i was massive. Everybody carries differently, my weight was all bump and naturally i am tall and slim! I was shocked!
But with breast feeding and walking i was back to prepregnancy weight in 3 months.

I have been the same way..im a day past 9 weeks and take 3 diff meds to be able to get out of bed. But with this I am a small girl who never ate a lot..no I dont want to gain a million pounds but bread and potato are the only things I can stand..I just try to do small snacks throughout the day. I eat a small breakfast lunch and dinner bc big meals are not your friend!  Stick to what you can handle and just eat small snacks so nothing is sitting heavily in your stomach.

In your first trimester my book says you need carbohydrates like pasta, rice potatoes etc.
I have had a real thing for noodles the past couple of weeks.
(i am 9wks +4)
With my first pregnancy i really suffered with morning sickness. And instead of eating i avoided food because i thought it would make me feel worse.
This pregnancy i have had hardly any sickness at all and i put it down to eating 3 small meals and having little snacks crackers, fruit and biscuits.
If my stomach is empty i get dizzy and feel sick straight away.x
and sips of water are always good for you and baby.x

Eat healthy n only eat when ur body tells you to. I'm 5'5 n was 111lbs and Ive gained 25 lbs (38+5 weeks now) and have had a healthy pregnancy. Lots of water is also your best friend.

Honestly listen to your body and eat what helps. Your body is trying to tell you what it needs through cravings and what makes you feel better. I'm a small girl normally too and normally gain 30-40 lbs during Pregnancy (this is my 4th) and didn't have issues with losing it as that was just all baby and was almost gone before I left the hospital.
Also trying eating 6-8 small meals instead of 3 big ones and snacks. That has always helped me with the sick feeling and with normally not having the big  appetite it makes it easier to get what you need for you and baby

I understand the morning sickness is no joke. My first pregnancy my morning sickness was so bad I had it for 4 months straight.l'm small as well n honestly every women carry pregnancy different. I didn't gain a lot of weight in my first trimester but eat what u can just to put something in your stomach and drink water stay hydrated as much as u can. Until the morning sickness passes. I didn't really start picking up weight until my second trimester... N I'm now 28 weeks just started my third trimester n people still tells me I like small. But my doctor said me and baby is perfectly healthy. So honestly don't worry about the weight right now. Unless u feel like ur losing weight rapidly. Good luck with your pregnancy:-)
