I had my first appointment yesterday
Very exciting! They had me fill out paperwork (LOTS) and asked family history questions. Gave me a bunch of info, drew blood and gave me prenatal vitamins. No baby check yet, but I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week! Good luck !

If you are very early you may not hear the heart beat yet. Also you may not get an ultrasound on your first appointment, you may but if not at your first you will get one soon after. The nurses will interview you on family health history. They will probably take urine to check for drugs, sugars and proteins. They may also do a pap smear and a pelvic examination (these dont hurt). They will look for heart beat with this hand held Doppler that they put on your belly. They will weigh you and answer any of your questions. They will also draw blood to make sure everything's in check and make sure tou dont have HIV or Hep B. Nothing to be nervous about.  I'm always nervous when I go to the doctor's though. (: congrats on the pregnancy!
