First time mom worries...

Hi ladies :) I have some concerns about my baby, they are totally not founded on any evidence, all my tests came back fine, normal heartbeat, ultrasounds all look good according to Dr's and midwife, no spotting or bleeding. Everything looks normal. I'm 19 weeks. I'm just worried that they are missing something, maybe he /she has a physical deformation no one caught yet? What if something else is wrong and I don't know it yet? Not that I would love my child any less, I will love them no matter what! It's just that I'm a ftm and my first pregnancy and I just can't believe I'm creating a life, and I have screwed up a lot on my life and this is one thing I really want to get right. I take care to eat right and exercise and I'm down to one cig a day after smoking regularly for ten years. I know Im probably just worrying too much... Did any of you worry this much with your first? Thanks for listening :)

I think it's normal. I'm first time mom too. I used to worry alot at the begining of my pregnancy because I was going to a rough time. My husband was soo sick, there were times I thought he would die. I was just soo stressed out thinking about him. Now I'm so grateful to God he is better. I kept thinking the stress will effect the baby but all my results are normal. Nothing abnormal. But sometimes I wonder if they miss something,  I overthink & worry.  But  I tried to stop. What calms me down is I since being pregnant, I been praying for healthy baby. I ask God too grant me a child that is healthy (physically, mentally, & developmentally) and that she is a happy. I stopped worrying too much as I was beginning of my pregnancy. I think it's on all in God's hands. You can't control how your baby will come out, but you can love them no matter what. Also if you find yourself worrying,  keep your mind occupied with something, like watching something. That's help me too. I hope this helps!

MommaDizzy that is such a cute mantra I'm totally going to use that now! It's hard to be worried when you think about it like that :) thanks!

I am pregnant with my first, too. I keep having dreams about being a horrible mom! Also dreams that my baby's legs are both backwards and it's missing an elbow... I've come up with a mantra to help me calm down when I get worried: 10 little fingers & 10 little toes, fat rosy cheeks & sweet button nose, healthy and plump growing on my bump! Kinda corny, but it helps me feel better. :-)

I felt/feel the same way! I am due in 2 days and I am so anxious to get her out here just so I can make sure everything is ok... So hard even though any test and ultrasound I've had has been totally normal! Now my concerns are on the labor and delivery... The only thing to do is leave it in God's hands! He will be there to guide us! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I kinda have that going on I keep dreaming my baby has lobster hands. I have a very distance cousin and her baby has lobster hands. Its not like its a bad thing he's a healthy happy little boy! I just know how mean kids are these days and all the bully crap you hear about. I don't want my baby to have any problems. I would love her no matter what but it does freak me out! Everyone keeps telling me your going to be a first time mom it happens! So your fine just chill and take things one day at a time that's what I'm doing!:)

It's called a first time mom. Your fine. Don't stress. Once you find out the gender you will be so excited with buying things you won't even think about it anymore.

Ps my husband is really great, always telling me that everything is fine but sometimes I think he just doesn't understand my level of anxiety and why I'm worried about it. He just thinks that babies always come out healthy and happy and I know that doesn't always happen...
