I'm not gonna do frezzer meals just make cassoroles for a few days and use my crockpot that way i can do prep while my sin is naping
Casseroles are the best for lazy days!
I don't really have any good freezer meal recipes... honestly I don't care for reheated food... I just heard they help during the first two weeks.
I might just do what you did & stock up on everything to do simple meals... & I can make soups to freeze.
I was going to this time but the majority of the recipes I found were for casseroles and those are so easy to toss together anyhow I just figured i why not make them fresh instead. My two oldest also love experimenting in the kitchen and I've got a couple really simple cookbooks so on nights I'm just too tired to cook I'm sure we can find something in them that they can fix (they're 13 and 10). What I have done is stock up on groceries so we don't have to shop except for quick runs to get milk and fresh veggies and fruit. We went to Sam's Club and stocked up on canned veggies fruit and some snacks then went to a local locker plant and stocked up on meat.
I've also found a new love for my crackpot :)
Some meals can be made and frozen I've gotten experimental with empanadas they are the homemade version of hot pockets.
Preped meats are good, chili, soups, but I don't recommend veggies potatoes are nasty once frozen..
I was going to during my last week, but my son came 2 weeks early, so I never got a chance to! I would do it asap, it would have made life soooo much easier!
What are your freezer meals? I usually just do bigger batches of chili or chicken dumpling soup and freeze. Orange chicken... I make pans of lasagna and freeze. I also use my crock pot ALOT!!! Like almost every day. So we make a lot of roasts, ribs and such
I never made freezer meals my husband and kids have to have food freshly cooked. I just stuck with quick and simple meals. It wasn't too difficult especially with my 2nd because my daughter could help with her baby sister while I was cooking if hubby was at work. She was 6 but her father and his wife had a baby year before and signed her up for some big sister classes that taught them how to help care for a new baby. Like preparing bottles changing diapers and how to pick up and hold baby properly.
