GD test

Random question but how much blood do they draw for this test? I have an irrational fear of getting my blood drawn. Last time i passed out but they drew so much so im hoping its only a vile..

I used to be a phlebotomist (the one who draws the blood) and if you're worried about passing out, here are two ideas. 1. If you start feeling light headed, cough. It forces oxygen to the brain and can help. It also distracts you. 2. Ask if their lab chair reclines. It's much harder to pass out when reclined far back. Make sure they know you have a history and fear of passing out; they will work with you.

I just did the 1 hr last week, they took 2 vials but only because my Dr also ordered a CBC, so I'm thinking one was for glucose other for CBC

They probably give 3 viles at the one hour. Just to prepare you. They do a blood count and a plasma test with the initials RHR or something like that. I went and thought it would be just one but got three. I hate needles and feel a whreck while blood is being drawn.

Hello are you doing the 1 hour or 3 hour test? I did the 1 hour once and the 3 hours twice. All 3 times it was 1 vile each time they needed to draw blood. It was not so bad and I have phobias of needles :/
