Agreed you should definitely do the test to make sure you do not develope gd so that if you have you can keep it under control through diet and exercise ect.

You need to take it. Even with healthy diet and normal sugar absorption your preg hormones can disrupt the way your pancreas functions. It's very important that gd is treated to avoid consequences for your baby and yourself.

In America i think everyone has to tale it. For me and my friend, it wasn't that bad at all. We thought the drink tasted like orange soda(if you get the orange). Theres 2 other flavors also. I failed the 1 hour barely and had to take the 3 hour. It sucked cuz you had to stay there for a while and get your blood drawn more, but it just made me sleepy. I am so afraid of needles and it really wasn't as bad as i imagined.

The GD test checks the probability and/or existence of gestational diabetes. It's called the O'Sullivan Glucose Tolerance Test. It depends on the OB, the coun7, etc. It involves drinking a sugary drink and then not eating and only drinking water for 1 hour after consumption,  at which point your blood is drawn and sent for analysis. If your levels come back under a certain number,  you pass. If they are high, you have to take a longer,  3 hour test that involves fasting.
