Gestational Diabetes

Is anyone opting not to do this test?

No one in my family has ever had a problem and my Dr told me it usually effects people with diets high in sugar and she sees less than 5% come back with a positive. I eat pretty healthy and stay away from sugary foods so I'm contemplating opting out of this one and wanted to know if anyone was doing the same.

Thank you ladies :) I hope you're all having a great day!

Thank you ladies! Ill be talking to my Dr about alternatives today and hopefully I can do the blood test.

Countrygirl, thats why I dont want to! Ive done my best to stay away from sugar and I dont want to flood my system with it. Your poor friend, that would be awful!

I'm not planning to do it. Just can't stand the thot of flooding my system with all that sugar! I have a friend who didn't have a problem until she did it, and now gets gestational diabetes every pregnancy. This past week I have been using a glucometer and checking my levels after meals to see where I'm at.

I opted out due to the fact that the stuff y make you drink makes me really sick so instead they just drew blood and checked all my levels to make sure everything looked good
