Gestational Diabetes

Ladies I have a question for you. I was given the glucose test about 5 times and 4 out of the 5 times the test was Negative but on my 5th test after Thanksgiving it was positive so they had me do the 3 hour Glucose test and again my Dr said it was positive.  So now I have to poke myself 4 times a day.  All my results have been under 120 for the 1st week and now my Dr said I need to take 5mg of Glyburide daily.  I read alot of negative things about Glyburide during pregnancy so I told my Dr I would not take it. Now she says I will need to be on Insulin. Does anyone know if Glyburide or Insulin are appropriate if your glucose results are all under 120? I thought medication for gestational diabetes should only be given if the results are very high but again I'm not sure. I will be 36 weeks tomorrow

That's what I thought...my morning I will admit have never been under 95. They're always 106 to 110 but all my other pokes are under 120 after waiting 2 hours after meals. But her and her colleague who I sometimes see because she's out of the office both want me on medication now or insulin and idk what to do

That's ridiculous. I had gd and I was told the first prick in the morning should be less than 90 and aftery meals was to be under 130 I never had to take anything because it was diet controlled under 130. Under 120 is great.
