I'm 40weeks still no sign of baby boy. Doctors in FL don't induce til 41w4d. Walking is out of the question as it's been 93+degrees here in Florida. What else can I try to get him out ASAP?! EXPERIENCED mom's please answer!

I was induced with two of my kids and the third I went into labor naturally a week early though they had to break my water for me. Everything went smoothly all three times so I wouldn't worry! Baby will come when he/she is ready. One thing that did help with me get some contractions started with the third was acupressure.. look it up on youtube and have your significant other or a friend do them.. even if it doesn't work for the contractions you'll at least feel like you're getting a mini massage!

what the heck.. haha that is baby center, no spaces.. also, one thing that did cause contractions for me was to have sex, as unpleasant as it is, and then the uterus contracts naturally after an orgasm, then you immediately get on one of those workout balls and bounce til you can't bounce anymore, that will progress your contractions maybe in to a regular steady time-able pace.

the *'s in the middle are **********, long story short - baby will come when ready, so no, nothing will work unless your body and baby are ready, even if that means induction, I know plenty of women that have had perfect inductions and loved them, so hopefully you do too

I have asked a doctor, actually, I've had 2 kids and this is my third and any doctor will advise against it.

Castor oil does not cause the baby to pass bowel movement. Ask a doctor. Pineapple,nipple stimulation blah blah nothing is working. Guess induction it is.....

Agreed with castor oil, there are so many life threatening things that can happen with that - it can cause baby to poop in he womb and injest meconium and get an infection! I was 0cm's dilated, 0 effaced, 0 anything on my due date at 40 weeks, and I went home and cried and cried, and I googled what to do, and I found fresh pineapple theory..I ate an entire fresh pineapple myself (talk about friggen burning tongue!) and was in labor by that night!

Castor oil isn't very safe. nipple stimulation has been proven to work but not always.  Good luck baby will come when ready. Remember your due date is an estimate usually give or take 2 weeks.

Same as that. Nothings is working. Went for a sweep yesterday but it couldn't be done because my cervix was closed. Bouncing, walking, hot curry, sex, pineapple (gives me heartburn). Im ready for this baby out now!

I don't eat spicy foods as heart burn has killed me all 10 months!! Sex...not working lol. I tried the castor oil...no effect at all. I've tried water aerobics and bouncing, nothing is working. My cervix is soft but no dialation. I hear inducing is worse than natural labor si that's why I want to avoid it. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore! Lol

With my first baby I over carried her 1 week. I did everything from walking to sex to spicy foods! Nothing worked. However my water broke right before my induction and I went into full blown labor by myself without a problem :) with my second, I was overdue 2 weeks. I went into labor about 30 minutes after we had sex, so this time sex worked for me! Lol babies really do just have their own timing.. I feel your pain tho
