Glass of wine?

Hey mummies, I'm 9 weeks now and was wondering if drinking a glass of wine from time is ok and won't harm the baby or is it so strict that even this glass is extremly forbidden? I'm not saying about getting drunk of course.

I've read some mummies posts with them saying that it's safe to have randomly a small amount of alcohol and it's fine and still the babies were born otally healthy.

Occasionally is fine.  I really recommend the book Expecting Better, it was written by a professor who examined all the studies into what pregnant women should and shouldn't do.

It turns out a lot of the rules (like "No alcohol! Ever!") are *not* supported by the evidence.

Having one 8 to 12 oz glass of wine once or twice a month is fine. It best to drink while eating so you have food in your stomach. Red is also the best. Helps clean the toxins out your body.

My doctor admitted to drinking wine occasionally when she was pregnant and I had a half a glass at one of my baby showers...but watch out it affected me like I had a lot more!  So I haven't drank any since, I didn't like that I felt so tipsy off a small amount.

One of my family members goes to a fancy specialist out of Dallas TX.
She told her that at 8months it was perfectly fine to have a glass of wine a few days a week.

'No sushi' is another rule that is not supported by evidence.

I still eat it and I ate it with my first baby too.  So do all the mums in Japan....

Well that's the case - I did ask 3 different ones and the opinions were different among them.
One of them said it's even fine to drink glass of red wine occasionally therefore it boosts up the blood stream.

Thanks @hkjen I'll get a read!
