Glucose test

Is a gestational diabetes glucose test necessary in pregnancy? I am 31 weeks haven't had one yet or told by a midwife

I would get one im very healthy in eating and weight wise and im border line to having it. So to be safe im on a diet I already eat healthy but now I cut out a lot more. Gestational diabetes goes away after birth.

It depends on if your at risk,you may be healthy enough that they're not worried about it but you could request one

I did not have one my first pregnancy as my OB actually forgot about it and for this pregnancy my midwife said it is up to me, not mandatory.

Not really, I'm 18 weeks and only had one done because I used to be a diabetic.

It is necessary because u may not have had any issues before being pregnant but while pregnant your body changes a lot and may not be handling the sugars like it once did anyways uncontrolled diabetes can for one give u a huge like ten pound baby and it also gives your baby higher chances for developing diabetes later in life those are the main things i believw definitely as about the testing and talk to your doctor
