I had the shot at 32 weeks with my first pregnancy. I ended up delivering 9 days after my due date (I guess baby got comfy and decided why come out). So I guess to answee your question No. You could still possible make it to 40 weeks, but don't be alarmed if you go earlier. Especially since this is baby #2.

With my first, my water broke at 32 weeks, no contractions, so they gave me magnesium sulfate to not allow contractions and induced me at 34 weeks because the risk of infection to the baby outweighed the benefits by keeping him in longer. He still went to the NICU, but was able to come home after only a 6 day stay.

That isn't what happened to me, but early contractions are quite common. It's good they got them to stop. If your water breaks, you should definitely plan on having your baby early, but as of now, no one can really answer that. The good news is that your baby has a very high survival rate at this point in your pregnancy. With my firsty water
