Group B strep positive

Today I went to my appt and my midwife  told me I tested positive for group B strep (GBS). I'm not sure if I should get antibiotics or try to treat it with natural remedies. Has anyone here tested positive? Were you able to treat it and get rid of it? Was your baby infected when it was born? I'll appreciate it if anyone shares their experience.

You need to be on antibiotics during labor for at least 4 hours or its 2 whole bags. Can't exactly remember but for the baby's safety that's the best way.

I'm going to try to get rid of it the natural way. I'll ask my midwife to retest me again at 39 weeks and If I still have it I'll have to get antibiotics. I'm praying and hoping for the best.

My best friend was group b strep positive. They started treating it during the labor. It won't hurt you, it can hurt the baby. You should ask you ob if there's anything you can do in the meantime.

It can be very serious if your not treated properly i would have the baby in the hospital and do the antibiotics at the hospital. I wouldnt risk it. I had GBS and it was best to have the baby at the hospital as GBS can really harm the baby if not taken care of properly

I think there are natural ways to treat it. I am also having a home birth and I was told to drink a lot of keifer and clean up my diet before the test. Also since with apple cider vinegar mixed with water down there. Its basically just bacteria out of balance but if you limit sugar and do fermented foods and try to boost your immune system it should be gone before baby comes.

Ask your midwife how to treat it.

The problem is that I'm having a homebirth. I'm 37w&5d and I would like to get rid of it before I go into labor.
