The studies i have looked at say that vitamin e is what reduces the appearance of stretch marks regardless of brand.  The real determining factor is genetics, I rarely use lotions etc... and have very few stretch marks from pregnancy (have more from puberty).  Whereas my sister uses lotions and oils everday and has a ton of stretch marks, its just luck of the draw.

It depends on how much you gain too. Stretch marks run in my family but I'm 28 weeks and have no sign of them. If you gain slowly you have a better.chance of avoiding them. I Have gained probably 22 pounds so far.

I don't use either.. I use burts bees belly butter in the morning and vitamin e oil before bed and I'm 35 weeks and have very light marks on my boobs but nothing else and my skin stays moisturized

I also read that some women are more likely to develop stretch marks than others but I guess it doesn't hurt applying lotion or oil just in case.

Stretch mark oil can help to reduce the stretch marks but it's best for the dryness and itches you will get. My sisters are 36 weeks pregnant and not even one stretch mark whereas i'm 27 weeks and I have insane bright purple/pink very sore stretch marks, the oil only helps to stop the pain a bit

Stretch marks are genetic, no matter what you do you will either end up with some or none

It all depends on your body. I use Palmers cocoa butter formula, it's help with the tightness but I still have extremely bad stretch marks

Depends on your body. I've used both bio oil and palmer's since I found out I was pregnant, once a day. I'm 15+3 and stretch marks are coming out on my boobs. Not belly yet though :-)

With my first pregnancy I used coco butter. I did NOT buy palmers bc 1) its expensive & 2) it stinks badly!! I used vasalines bottle of coco butter and I didn't get a single stretch mark. I put it on every night before I went to bed. But I cant say anything about bio oil.
