I had an emergency C-Section and pregnant with my second child. My doctor has given me the option to do either, however my local hospital dosent allow you the option so I would have to go to one of the bigger hospitals near by. Some hospitals can accommodate if something horrible goes wrong. My doctor is the best but because she's under contract with our hospital I would have to find a OB
I had a crash section with my first and now pregnant with my 2nd, my previous consultant has said I will be a good candidate for a vbac if that's the path I choose, (have no idea what to do although I would like to try natural I'm scared of rupturing) talk it through with ur doc and ask for the reasons as to why he/she thinks it's safer for a 2nd section! I had a horizontal cut but I think vertical cuts are more dangerous
I'm 22 years old and 25 weeks pregnant and I will be having my 3rd sections. First was a emergency and second was planned but went early and tbh I recovered quite quick after my second section I got home the next day. All people are different. They say once u have a section the rest of natural is about ur scar opening but I know people that has had a section and went on and delivered normal.
I heard... once you get a c-cection.. every pregnancy after that you have to get one as well..
Rather than jump to conclusions about the doctors reasoning just be open and direct. Ask doc why he/she thinks a c-section. If they did your first c-section they might have seen something that makes them think a VBAC is more risky. There is always a chance of uterine rupture or tear around the scar. But if you only had one c-section you may be a good candidate for a VBAC. If you don't like what you hear you can always get a second opinion. Good luck. Hope all goes well either way :)
I had on c section with first cause he got stuck but I'm pregnant again and my doc said I can try again for a normal delivery if my baby ain't to big for me
I have had 2 prior 2 c-section. My first was due to the baby pooped inside me. Secondly time I tried a vbac but was not successful because baby heart beat was dropping (unaware he was facing up). Am the type that never gives up. The third was a successful vbac. Am pregnant now and am equally going to try a vbac by His grace. You know your strength so you have the final decision. I wish you best of luck.
My doctor said there is only a 1% risk for a vaginal delivery after c-section. I am definitely planning on trying unless something unforeseen pops up. My cs was because of placenta previa which is not an issue with this pregnancy.
Why did you have your c-section the first time?
You don't *have* to do anything of the sort. Check out ICAN, the csection awareness league. They likely have a chapter in your area where you can get support regardless of what delivery method you have, and they can advise you about options fir vaginal delivery in your area.
Repeat csections increase risk in future pregnancies, so it's important to be informed if you think there's the slightest chance you'll be pregnant in future.
A succesful vbac is safer than an elective CS.
But an elective CS is safer than an unsuccessful vbac followed by an emergency CS.
So you need to decide whether you are likely to have a successful vbac.
I don't think it's safer for you or baby... I think it's EASIER for your doctor! Don't let him push you to something you don't want. Remember, your body is yours to choose.
Hi, I had a horizontal cut c-section with my first baby due to preeclamsia. I'm hoping to do vaginal this time though..
I think, unless u had a vertical cut, its worth talking more about with ur doctor or find another OB who is more experienced in vbac's.
Not sure what country u r in though and how things r done there, I'm in US fyi..
