I made cute cup cakes for the shower I threw for my sister in law that were iced and had little blue hat's and pacifiers made of icing. They were a big hit. I also made a huge cake..veggie tray with ranch...fruit tray with vanilla yogurt...pigs in a blanket.....chips...I also made cookies that were decorated like babies. .....

Maybe just do sub sandwiches,  some cold pastas. .. Easy to eat.  It was so much work to cook all that food for my baby shower.  I wish we just ordered pizza lol.
if you aren't on a budget, a lot of places cater too. If you're going that route,  make sure people have somewhere to eat and be comfortable

Depends...if you have it during dinner time (as in later afternoon say between 3-5 as a starting time) you'd need to serve real food...early afternoon/lunchtime you can get away with yummy snacks! As a 3x mom...just make a big old pan of baked zit! It's cheap, easy and almost everyone likes it. Serve some salad, maybe bread....and lots of snacks and goodies! Serve what you're craving! :) it's your day.

You can serve actual food if you want are just snacks like cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, cookies...
at my baby shower we had a big dinner.
Mashed potatoes,  chicken,  meatloaf, green beans, pasta, strawberries,  and cake.
