Heart rate

Hello fellow mamas! I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and baby's heart rate was 155, which doc said was typical for a girl. We don't actually know what we're having yet, and won't know for another 8 weeks.

What were your heart rates at 12 weeks, and for those of you that know what you're having, did it coincide with the gender of your baby?

I'm on my third pregnancy, I'm 12 weeks but haven't heard the baby's heartbeat yet. My next ob visit is on the second, and can't wait to see what the heart rate is. With my daughter, her heart rate was 138, and my sons was166. I've done years of research on pregnancy and usually when the heart rate is 140 and below would be a girl.

Thank you!....I'm 20 weeks now and the 188 kinda made me paranoid I'm like I don't hear people say their babies heart rate was that high lol....but in the future I won't judge by that because I totally thought it was a girl but I'm super excited for a boy!!!! That is a very exciting moment its actually the moment pregnancy became real for me even though I've been sick and everything lol

Obviously. But, it's fun to guess. It's not like we think heart rate determines gender, lol. Have some fun!

Heart rate is not an accurate method to determine gender. Even ultrasounds have a margin of error. The only 100% accurate way to determine gender are chromosomal tests like the C.V.S. and amnio. Those tests should never be done solely to determine gender due to risk of miscarriage.
