Heavy bleeding but did not miscarry

Has anyone done this? I was 9 weeks preg on saturday, and I have felt fine. Anyways I was over at my sisters house next door, just finished watching a movie, stood up to come home, and blood just gushed out of me. Just like I was on a normal perood. My sister and I were freaking out. But I walked home, took a bath to clean myself up and went to bed. I was literally afraid to move! I never passed a bloodclot that I'm aware of. I did see 2 very small clots after I wiped, but other than that, nothing. But the blood was bright red. Anyways, went to hospital the next day. Doctor did an internal exam, and said I had stopped bleeding...there was only old blood visible. Had blood work taken. Hcg levels were at 70,973. He said that was good but even if the baby had already died the levels still could be up like that. Went for an ultrasound today. I was expecting the worst. Thought the baby had died but that I just had not passed it yet. But to my surprise, he/she was still in there. Moving around with a strong heartbeat!! I couldnt believe it. I still have to go go back tomorrow for more bloodwork to be done. Wanna see if the Hcg levels have doubled. Does anyone know what could have happened??? My ovaries also looked fine. I do not not know what to think. Im so afraid Im going to miscarry. =(

I am 6 weeks pregnant and have severe bleeding and clotting. My Hcg levels dropped to 2900. This is my second pregnancy and I'm devastated, I cannot stop crying. My breasts are no longer tender and the doctor's are saying that I might miscarry if I haven't done so yet. I just know in my heart that my baby is still there, the doctors are wrong. I'm hoping for a miracle, I'm staying prayed up. God Bless!

Oh boy does your story sound all too familiar...except my bleeding started at 16 weeks and bled until I had the baby at 22 weeks 4 days. I had a placental abruption and it too 4 ultrasounds from 4 different people to finally figure out what was wrong!  There was a huggeee blood clot at the edge of the placenta. The bleeding was off and on at first..it never completely stopped, but it definitely got better.  After a couple of weeks it started to get really bad.  At night I would soak through pads and my clothes.  It was just something I got used to because everytime we went to the dr, the baby looked great.  I would pass massiveee blood clots as well.  But again, I just got used to it.  I think when it first started, the perinatologist thought it would go away.  He started to finally get worried when it was even worse a month later.  I think most of the time this goes away, so hopefully that's the case for you!  I finally went to the hospital because I was having pretty bad contractions that weren't stopping. The bleeding causes your uterus to contract, and the contractions cause you to bleed more.  Anyway, they finally ended up having to take the baby at 22 weeks 4 days, after I had to get 4 units of blood(sounds scarier than it actually is!) because I just wouldn't stop bleeding.  When they took him, my dr said I was literally within hours of it detaching completely.  If that happened, she wouldn't have been able to guarantee mine or  my little boys survival.   Thank GOD me ANDD my little boy made it!  He ist now 5 months old and looks like a perfect little newborn.
I will pray nothing like this happens to you.  My dr said mine was the scariest abruption she or the perinatologist have ever seen.
However, I will give you some advice...get a dr you LOVE and completely trust if you don't have one already.  I had just switched drs a week before I had Brady and I was soo happy I did.  She saved my life and I trusted her w everything.  Don't do any heavy lifting.  I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be picking up my toddler until a week before I had my baby.  Find out whyyy you are bleeding?  Like I said..it took 4 different people, but we finally found out.  You could not be having an a abruption, and could have a muchhh better outcome. I hope that's the case!  Take care of yourself and your little one...I'd go on pelvic rest until the bleeding actually stops.   Good luck and keep us updated!!
