Thank you this weight is going to bother me because I am eating and I dont want to put the baby at risk. My first two children I had before I had surgery so this is all new to me. Its a little hard to come up with a menu for the week so i get enough protein and food in

I added high fat/protein snacks like nuts and nut butter. I also added a few good carbs like fruit. I am on a 3 meals a day and 2 or 3 snacks. In fact I had my 38w appointment today and I have lost 4 pounds since my last appointment.  My ob doesn't say anything about my weight unless I pack on the pound. All my lab work has been fine but I eat alot of red meat or try too for the iron.

Just make sure your getting all your vitamins and proteins too.  I've known several people who have died from not getting the correct nutrition.   One was pregnant too.  Good luck.

I have not had gastric bypass although I should. I weighed 350lbs when I got pregnant. The last Dr visit I weighed 333lbs. The doctor said she was not worried about the weight loss but did not want me to gain more than 9 lbs my entire pregnacy. The morning sickness makes me lose my appetite. Although now in 2nd trimester I'm feeling more hungry. I saw a fetal care specialist and she said she did not want me losing any more weight so I'm not sure what to think either. My baby is growing and I don't have high bp or diabetes.  I think as long as you are healthy and the baby is healthy you will be fine.

I also had a gastric bypass. I am almost 38w weeks and I have gained about 35 pounds. All I gained in the 3rd trimester. Add a protein snack during the day or 2.

My advice go for  quality  not quantity...  The doc will tell you if you should be gaining weight.. If they haven't said anything best thing to do is ask at your next appointment...  Good luck!
