Peppermint, suck on candies or rub some peppermint essential oils on tummy.
I Woke up with the worst heartburn of my life this morning. I found on the Internet to drink baking soda in water. Sure enough there are directions on the baking soda box how to take it. I drank half a glass with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Walla my heart burn was gone in about 20 minutes. Hope this helps. Btw the water tastes awful.
Milk is slightly a acidic, drinking milk could be doing more harm than help.
Chewing gum helps. I'm 24 weeks and have been having bad heart burn for the last couple of weeks.
I wouldn't recommend milk either as it causes more acidity. Yogurt on the other hand works wonders. Have a spoonful and it generally gives instant relief.
Im having it bad too. I'm 29w4d & wouldn't dare drink no dang baking soda water lmaoooo. Ima keep up with this tho cus I need to know as well. It keeps me up at night & it makes me puke
You might need something stronger. I know how you feel.
I take pepcid and it was ok by my dr. Although it helps more to relieve gas/air bubbles for me. Keep track of what you are eating and know to steer clear of that next time.
Ooh chile I know how you feel! I'm still sitting up in bed waiting for my heartburn, acid reflux to subside. I'm chewing on tums as I type. My acid reflux is so bad that it gave me nearly a 2 week long earache and headache. Now i pop a tum for quick relief before it starts. I basically stopped eating for a few days. So my OB prescribed me Prilosec. I've taken it only a couple times when it became unbearable but I try to watch my diet. So keep close watch on your diet and the triggers that causes it for you. I noticed it was lots of air trapped with my stomach acid. Once I belched several times it made the big chunky knots in my chest and throat go away.
My triggers are: anything citrus, minty, spicy or fried food.
Milk helps a little as does cold water, tums makes it a little bareable. Talk to your Doc about it. Good luck!
Milk and cold water helps if your throat is on fire. I drank almond milk not cows milk. Oh and steer clear of chocolate and tomatoes which are also acid triggers.
Chocolate is the WORST...but i love it..every night before bed i have to have about 5 tums and I keep them in a candy dish incase I wake up with it haha
This happened to me and still is at 37+2 weeks... I have got all my triggers worked out now.. Maybe avoid things like garlic, onions, acidic drinks, tea and coffee or whatever you have been eating/drinking before the episode..good luck :)
