Congratulations!! :) that's a good weight, I weighed 5lbs 6ozs when I was born on my due date nearly 30 years ago and I had no issues. Enjoy your special time with your beautiful daughter :)
Dear All-Mum,
I pleased to inform that, my little sweetheart has been born 13th Mar (fri).
She's born at 2.36kgs (5.3 lbs). She's very beautiful. Thank you for all the supports. Good luck and all the best for yours pregnancy xxx.
Thank you for being so supportive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm not a greedy person, I just wish my baby hit 5.5 pounds I'll be very happy. Will keep everyone update. Cheers~~♡♡♡
The specialist told me that my son was going to be a little over 3lbs at birth and would need to be in the nicu for a while the next day when I had him he was 5lbs 9oz. So don't listen to everything they say. An ultrasound is not always accurate.
Thank you for your message. Will update you once baby born. Finger crossed and hope everything will goes well. Good luck for your pregnancy as well xxx
Thanks for the update! It sounds like your drs are confident that your baby will be fine...my sister's baby was born at 34 weeks for the same reason and was fine. It sounds like you are in good hands, and how exciting to get to meet your baby so soon! Good luck with the delivery! I'll be waiting to hear that your little one has arrived safely!
Today I'm pregnant with 36weeks1day (feeling blessed). I went to see 3 specialists to finalised what cause the slow growing of my little precious. They all found the same issue caused it (sounded very professional) which's calcification or calcium deposit to the placenta. Well, basically aged/mature quicker than the actual age. What cause the calcification? No actual evidence can tell yet. One of the specialist found my placenta age about 40weeks pregnant. I was like really? I'm just touched 36 weeks only. All the specialists was having the same decision which cesarean 2days from now. They said having the baby out better than in. Due the placenta aged and not supplying enough to the baby. So.... no point of keeping in as baby not getting nutrients. Plus the amniotic fluid has decreasing. At 35weeks baby weight was 4pounds10ounces and today 36 weeks is 4pounds5ounces. Does this shown baby is hardly grow? Doc's said since the baby is healthy now, may as well take it out. I could have keep it till 37 weeks which's full term. But I do not want to risk my baby health. Don't keep it for a sake of keeping untill the baby conditions gone bad. Well, if baby were born now, its considered late preterm but not so bad as early preterm. If you're having this condition in early preterm then the doctor will try to prolong the baby in the mother womb. That's why I said "I'm feeling blessed I've approached 36 weeks. And I'm also lucky that I had 3 very professional gynaecologist to keep an eye on me (but bill costs me fortune). As long as the baby safe and healthy, money can be made again. Wish me luck for this Friday ♡♡♡. Thank you for reading.
Also, I'm 33 weeks and my babies are just over 3 lbs each...and one isn't growing well. I also have adequate cord flow, they don't know why baby a isn't growing and haven't said anything about the placenta. I have growth scans once a week to monitor baby a and my Dr says once both babies lungs are developed they will have me deliver. It seems as though your Dr is watching your situation closely and will take good care of you and your baby. Good luck and keep us posted!
I've no risk and complications for this pregnancy, apart UTI. Honestly, I hope my baby will keep growing, 1/2 pound a week should be enough (hopefully I'm not too greedy by asking that). Finger crossed. Thanks to all the mummy and mummy to-be. Hope you girls have a smooth and pleasant pregnancy.
My sister had that placenta problem with her second baby. I honestly didn't know they could tell about the aging through an ultrasound. For her, her baby stopped growing and she was induced at 34+5. They didn't know that the placenta was aging until she delivered the baby. Baby was very healthy, weighed over 5 lbs.
Not sure about the placenta question but my first born always measured small & he was born 5 days early weighing 5.5! He was so tiny lol but he soon grew & was a lil chubsta by 16 wks :-) he is now 13 & taller than me! Try not to worry x
She still has plenty of time to put weight on please dont worry. They aren't always very good at predicting weights. Your placenta is fine and baby is fine. Some babies are just a little petite.
Another concerned me is the placenta starting age. Currently is stage 1 aging. I was also told placenta tend to be smaller. Did anyone experience that?
Ultrasound is only an estimate for weight, it cam be up to 2lbs off in either direction. I wouldn't worry too much
My daughter came out 6lb 8oz and I demand fed her breastmilk she did not lose any weight at all she even gained a tiny bit ! So make sure you fat her when she comes out !
Wen I was pregnant with my daughter she was always underweight. She was born at 39 weeks at 6lb 5oz. The doc kept telling me that I am small so my baby will b like me. After birth she kept losing weight for 1 week .now she is 3 year n still under weight but healthy n active.
I think as long as the baby is healthy n active weight doesn't matter.
