Hit By Car

So I'm 24 weeks and yesterday I was riding my bicycle to work like I do everyday and a guy in a minivan wasn't paying attention and hit me...I flew about 4 feet with my bike and ended up with his van pinning me and my bike to the ground...He had to back it up so I could move.  I was tAken to the emergency room via ambulance...They found that my blood mixed with baby blood which meant there was internal bleeding.  My handlebar smashed me right in my belly and I hAve a Mark and it's swollen.  They kept me overnight due to the possible chance of my placenta detaching which then I would need a c section asap to save his life.  I have never been so scared in my life. That was the longest 24 hours ever and I'm still not in the clear...now I'm high risk and have to be extra careful.  And the kicker is this guy could care less...He was super cocky and nonchalant about the whole situation. He simply told everyone he wasn't paying attention and didn't see me.

Omg! That is so scary! I can only imagine what you went/are going through, definitely try to go after his insurance company, people nee to learn to pay attention! He could have killed both of you. Press charges, sue, the whole nine yards, I'm happy your doing good and hope you and your baby have a complete recovery. Blessings!

I'm reading your story and seriously I'm pissed. He put two lives in danger and he's acting like he doesn't care.  WHAT? That's beyond crazy and scary. You and your baby are in my prayers every night. Wishing you full recovery!! Please keep us posted!

What a jerk of a guy... he should have been on his knees helping tog, sitting at the hospital etc. Some People have no moral conscience  anymore. I hope he gets a rude awakening by your letter. Take care mama of you and your little baby!!!!

I am so sorry... that us scary they should put that guy in jail or at the very least take away his drivers license even if you and baby are ok. The next pregnant lady he hits might not have it so easy and by easy I mean they may die on sight. So far you have been very lucky that you and baby are ok for now and like you said that's just for now. I hope they don't let him just walk away, that makes me scared for my baby. I hope you and baby do well, good luck...

OMFG i hope everything goes well and every test turns out 100% for your lil man and you mama. :(  I would call a lawyer asap if I were you and talk to him about all of this and I would take the cocky guy to court he could have seriously hurt you and the baby and until your in the clear there's always that chance ... I hope everything is fine though

Thanks ladies. I figured you would all understand considering were all mommy's.  Honestly this man was lucky there were police there because my boyfriend was scared to death and pissed...And was freaking out ...I talked to a lawyer today briefly. And the funny part is my lawyer is preggo too so she's fired up about it...us mommy's stick together

I'm really sorry to hear this, glad your doing well giving the circumstances. I'm not a sue happy person but I would sat you should file a suite with His insurance for your medical.bills (if any) pain and suffering for you and your baby, and compensation for now being high risk.

Omg!!!! I am very emotional reading this!!!!!!!! I want to say first off, I am very sorry to hear about what happened and I am concerned about your baby!! I am hoping with such passion that you and your baby are safe and well!! I most certainly hope your baby stays strong and survives!!! I will have you in my prayers!!!! Secondly, what a coward of a man!!! How very inconsiderate!!! I would personally look into possibly pressing charges, regardless if it was an accident!! But you need to rest, so maybe that's not an option right now!!!! My heart goes out to you and your baby!!! Keep us updated!!
