Home Birth stress

I am 17+ weeks pregnant with #2. I decided this time I would absolutely not repeat my first birth experience- hospital with epidural and completely unhappy with the experience.

I have a midwife (who works with an ob) and am planning a home birth. I have been very firm in my decision & truly desire a home birth. I am thus far a perfect canidate and there are zero medical reasons that would make this an unwuse decisikn.

My spouse & parents are tenatively supportive. However, my dad is a worst-case kinda guy and has concerns he expresses. This has me getting nervous & second guessing my desire.

Any mamas home birth? How did you cope with fears and the constant expectations to explain & justify?

I'm seriously considering home birth as well. But I live in town where gerting to a hospital in an emergency is easy. My midwife is also a long time friend who has done numerous home births. If you have a good midwife...they will know what risks you have and they will tell you if you need to go to the hospital. I'm more concerned with minor things such as I will have no access to pain meds if I change my mind halfway through labor. Still....its a minor thing. I don't worry about the safety of the delivery. Most midwifes are even better than an ob doc.
