It's amazing how pregnancy medicaid covers it but insurance that your paying out the #&* for will red flag you. I have had two kids at the hospital before.  I just wanted to try something more intimate. I Will look into the third party billing, hopefully I get some luck.

My sister had home births with both of her children. I was there for both, she bought a birthing pool. In Australia home births aren't covered by Medicare so she had to pay her midwife, but says it is absolutely worth it. I was keen to home birth but my hubby is less keen, so birthing centre with our own midwife this time, but hopefully home births for the rest.

Such a calm environment and amazing experience to be a part of! If you have no risks and have an experienced midwife, research shows it is just as safe as hospital birth, however less chance of needing medical interventions which is always a plus!!

If you want home birth do not call your insurance... they'll red flag you.  I used a third party (Larsen Billing) and it cost me $20 but they code everything so insurance pays.  My insurance online provider search gave me in network options that were actually covered 100% for certain midwives, but bc I chose out of network my insurance is paying 75%, still not too terribly bad.  I absolutely adore my midwife.  She's absolutely wonderful!

Anyway, I will probably post how my home birth goes sometime btwn now & 42 weeks lol whenever baby decides to come.

After the reading the reviews sounds like a really good option. Just need to see if my insurance will cover it.

I would if my house wasn't too small. We're going with the next best option of a birth center.
