Homemade Baby Food

We will be making our own baby food and would like to hear some advice from other moms who have done this.  What are the best recipes?  How much should I make?  What can I freeze?  What are the best storage methods/containers?  Any other little things to know from experience would be great!

When can the baby start to eat the baby food?  Also do I need to cook all foods including the fruit?  Say I have peaches, can't I just mosh those up and Feds them to baby or does everything need to be cooked?

A lot of people freeze the homemade baby food in ice cube tray and then once it's solid...they store it in freezer bags. Perfect portions that way! Just pop out a few cubes when you need it!

My only advice would be to make small quantities of each at first until after baby tries them and you know if they like it or are allergic. I made a ton of a couple and he hated the taste so it was wasted. Also I made mango and it gave him diaper rash so that got tossed out right away.

I used to bake all of my fruits/veggies and when they were tender id let them cool and them puree them in my food processor. After they were pureed I would put them into ice trays and freeze them and then label ziplock bags and store them in the freezer like that. Made it really easy to just take out a cube or 2 and let them defrost in the fridge and feed to baby. It was also way cheaper than store baby food. Good luck :)

I used to cook up a big batch of something once a week (in a pressure cooker but you could use whatever), usually sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, etc. Pureed it in a food processor (adding a little cooking fluid for better consistency if needed). Then used a cookie scoop to portion it out into ice cube trays and froze. Once solid I popped them out and stored the cubes in freezer bags. Took out one or two as needed and defrosted in the microwave. Very easy!

I started giving my son pears and apples, just cut the fruit in half and scrape it why a spoon. When I started the veggies, I started with sweet potatoes, just boil a little and use a strainer,  then 3 days later, a different thing, maybe carrots or whatever you like. I never froze it, just cooked a little bit every day. I don't like to use the blender, it's probably much easier but to me it changes the flavor of things. (Try to make mash potatoes in the blender instead of mashing them and you'll see how disgusting it is)

If u use plastic make shure they are bpa free. And mabe old babu jars to save money. It depends how old ur baby is.
I use to boil potato and carrots and mash that together..sometimes K boild a litle chicken a d put it in it to. A d I Use a litle herbs to for the taste.  These things I started with when she was 7+ month. She of course ate porrighe for breakfest. But U can also mash banana for lunsj or snacks. My litle one loves avocado to. Just be carefull that U dont give them to muvh sour fruite like alot of apple strawberry, bluberyy..a d be carefull to see if she is also not allergic.
Pasta was another thing my daughter use to love. Freeze in small amound, then it easier. And i use to putt tbem in baby jars that K bought from before. Avents brands are good. U can give them fish to, when they are around 9 month. Salmond is good. Butternut squash,

I'll be making my daughters food as well.
I bought the baeba babycooker. Got it for $90 on ebay. It's a steamer, blender, defroster.  It's pretty cool and easy to use.
Mine came with a little recipe booklet. I also Google recipes. I'll be starting to make it next month when she's 4 months old. First recipe is just blended apples with a little bit of water.
