I live a good hour and some from my hospital i live like ten mins from a hospital but i wouldnt dare give birth there.... .im going where i feel comfortable.....
The closest hospitals to me are all 30-40 minutes away so that doesn't seem like a huge deal to me lol. I had a friend schedule an induction so that she could have her third baby where she had first two and it was at an hospital that was almost two hours from where she lived.
Not sure where you live but I know my Dr will schedule to induce you at 39+ weeks if you live more then 40 mins away from the hospital. I scheduled for a csection so I don't have to worry about the traffic and labor lol
This my 4th baby I'm about 45 to 50 min away ...and I love my Dr and I'm sticking to theam.do was best for you..
Thanks again. I won't make any changes.
I live 40 mins away from the nearest hospital. It's where I had my 2 previous babies and now I'm on my 3rd. I do worry a little this Labour night progress very fast as its my 3rd but I think on your first you should be ok on the hour drive as it can be very slow. Just give yourself time. Make sure you leave as soon as it starts. Best of luck to you :-D
I live an hour away from ANY hospital. I'm planning a home birth though... It's also my first. But I feel ya on the family concerns. My family keeps telling me I need to have a modern hospital birth in town bc things could go awry. Yadda yadda. I feel like the home birth is the best option for us though. I don't want drugs or to be induced or get scheduled for a c-section so a doctor can be home for dinner on time. I also don't wanna drive an hour in labor (unless it's medically necessary) when I could be comfortable at home & have my midwife drive to me. Just do what you feel most comfortable with. Don't let anyone (especially family) stress you out. Everyone has an opinion... But right now yours matters most. :)
This is my first pregnancy and I'm 18w 5d.
Thanks ladies.
I agree with the ladies, just stick to what ur comfortable with. I moved to a different city n I planned on having my baby at the same hospital where I had my first child before I moved. N its 30 mins away.... N Im praying that everything works out. Just be sure to have everything u need all packed up to go so the first sign of labor pain. U can jump n get on the go. Best of luck to u:-)
I would just stick with ur dr n hospital. If u go into labor and it really progesses then just go to the closest hospital but i highly doubt u will progress that fast
Is it ur first pregnancy? I would go for hosp where I feel comfortable and know doctors. you can go when u feel first contractions and ring hosp on your way to let them know u cumin n keep them updated in case of trafic . Its time when you should feel comfortable cos u r the one who deliver the baby and family should respect ur decision
