We told our families right away when we found out at 4 weeks both times. We told everyone else at 8weeks on Facebook. First time I posted a picture of myself holding a bottle of prenatals and "what to expect" book and made it like a movie poster that said "coming soon from a uterus near you". Second one we had a picture of our daughter holding the sonogram that said " Santa brought me an early Christmas gift but it won't be delivered until July".

I'm 5 weeks and announced it on new years with the quote "New Year, New baby coming Sept 2015". I know there is a chance I could still miscarry but I wanted to share my happiness with others. I wasn't expecting to become pregnant since we used protection.

We told my parents when I was 8 weeks along we told his mom on our vacation to see her when I was 10 weeks and then we told everyone else at 11 weeks.  We then posted pictures of our nugget and our parents on social media saying "the only thing better than having you as parents is our child getting to have you as grandparents" on grandparents day to tell everyone else we don't see in a day to day basis.  Its the first grandbaby on both sides and it was harder on our parents to keep quite then it was for us!

We announced last week at 14 weeks. After two losses in the last year (at 11 and 12 weeks respectively) we wanted to wait until we were really ready - so it wasn't until after I'd heard the heartbeat for the third time that I felt comfortable enough to share.

I waited until after my first ultrasound. I figured it'd be easier for people to see it than to just hear it.

My husband and I have a scan at 10 weeks (our second scan).  As long as we hear a heartbeat, we are making the announcement.  I've already SEEN the heartbeat at 7 weeks, but I want to hear it first.  As for the how... We already told our closest family and friends (most have toddlers that jump all over me, so they had to understand I couldn't have a 3-4 year old jump on my stomach).  We told them by giving them "Christmas Cards" that contained a picture of the ultrasound with a caption saying "This girl is going to be an Aunt" or "This guy is going to be an Uncle" on it.  Everyone who received a card so far freaked out.  They loved it.  When we tell everyone else, we are just posting on Facebook a picture we took with Santa and he's holding a onesie we had made.  I have edited the picture to say "Best Present Ever!  Thanks Santa!".

Like someone else mentioned above, I'd announce the news whenever you're comfortable.  Hubby and I announced both of my pregnancies once the doctor confirmed that we were with child (approx. 5 wks both times).

Congratulations and best wishes on a healthy and enjoyable pregnancy! ! :-)

Seems like no time is the right time. Whatever makes you comfortable.  I waited at least until the second trimester
