Hypoglycemia

Lately I've been getting bad blood sugar drops in the mornings, always around 10 am. I suddenly get very light headed, dizzy, anxious, hot, sweaty and STARVING. I think this is hypoglycemia but not totally sure and I'm going to ask my doctor on Monday at my appt. It happened here and there a few weeks ago but now it's been happening every day and its awful. I end up literally stuffing my face with anything I can find that has sugar because my body feels like that's my only instinct. Then after like 20 minutes of eating and putting my head down I feel better. But I feel so bad about all the junk I just ate to make it go away. When I get that low it's like I have no control I just need to eat. I always have breakfast and I make sure it includes protein. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you know how to prevent this? Or help it go away without binging on sugar?

I get it from time to time. Im studying nutrition which really helps as keeping a healthy diet can really help. Stay away from refined carbs I.e white flour as they will send your sugar levels high up and then cause them to come crashing down. stick to complex carbs wholemeal brrad..pasta etc As these will sustain your energy levels for long and are richer in nutrients. Kiwis are great for when you feel like that or jam on toast. I know the feeling though it's  horrible like your going to faint. Eat lots of nuts..and dried apricots are good as they are rich in iron which will give you more energy. :)

I am hypoglycemic. I eat breakfast at 7:30 am and am starving again at 10 just like you are. I always have food on me. In my car, my purse, my desk etc. Make sure it's healthy, peanut butter and crackers is a great snack to ride you over until lunch. Veggies and hummus or fruit. Try having your snack before you start to feel sick if you know it's going to happen at 10 have it before. If your on that schedule regularly you will prob eat lunch at noon and another snack around 3 and so on.. good luck. It's actually a super healthy way to eat as long as the snacks are healthy and not full meals.. good luck

I am almost 18 weeks. I should try fruit. I was keeping these granola bars in my car but I used them all and never replaced them. It's like my hunger is so desperate if I ate one cookie and waited like ten minutes it would probably help but I feel like I can't wait like I need more and I need it NOW. So scary. I cant drive when it happens or barely walk and im shaking like a leaf and feel like im 1000 degrees. I feel like it also happens after exercising or if I've exerted myself a bit. I'm going to ask my dr to check me for gestational diabetes. I haven't had the glucose test yet cuz I'm not that far along

Try keeping some fruit around at that time of day. Then, if you start to feel faint, you can have an apple or pear or something instead of junk food.

It could be gestional diabetes. I'm hypoglycemic and I have gestional diabetes. Normally, when I feel like that is because my blood pressure is high.
