I have a bad habit of drinking soda!

I'm 26 weeks, and I have a hard time not drinking soda! I drink water about a half a gallon a day. Will it help, or is it harmful to get caffeine free soda?

I don't see anything wrong with drinking caffeine free soda you just don't want to drink a 12 pack of it.  A half a gallon water is not bad but it would be better buif you drank a ggallon but it is better than drinking Mountain Dew until you burst. Try milk.

I gave up soda and all caffeine in general my first pregnancy and ended up miscarrying... I am 40wks tomorrow and have had caffeine almost everyday.  After lots of research, the only real problem is it may cause low birth weight if you consume over 200mg of caffeine/day... a 20oz bottle of soda is around 70 (they all tell you on the back.)  I actually started craving soda once pregnant, hardly ever drank it prior... it's just so bad for you in general, that's the only reason I try to stay away from it.

Try sprite. It is caffeine free and you still get the satisfaction of drinking a soda.

You are fine. I have never tried to give it up because I don't see a problem with it. I am about to give birth to my 3rd healthy baby. No complications or issues with any of my pregnancies what so ever. As long as you aren't drinking a 12 pack and ONLY pop which it doesn't sound like you are you and your baby are finem

I am 39 weeks and havent been able to kick the soda habit either. Luckily you are allowed 1 a day. I drink just enough to take care of my craving and have not had any problems from it.

The only reason they say not to consume too much caffeine bc studies have related it to heart burn, isnomina, jiggers, and miscarriage. But i drank soda with my dinner with both my pregranices and had frappacinos every week! I gave birth two healthy babies...but i think youre allowed one coffee a day and a soda!
