The Dr has me taking Maalox as needed it def worked better then tums for me. It seems to coat my esophagus helping keep the acid down. I also started drinking a glass of lemon water with 2 fresh slices of lemon squeezed in it. It helps with digestion and def has minimized the amount of indegestion I was getting. Good luck mama. Heartburn is miserable.
Oh my gosh me too! Woke up last night with extreme heart burn mid night for the first time I drank water and sat up straight for like 5 min...then went back to bed. I have 11 more days to go!!
My doctor suggested the liquid antacid. I have GERD so pregnancy has made my heartburn problems ten times worse. I aboided the liquid stuff because I thought it would just be too gross but onve I finally broke down I now regret not using it the whole time! It coats your esophagus so it works better than anything you can chew and lasts longer! Hope this helps!
My doc said I could do tums, pepcid.. Yoga instructor says to try warm lemon water in the morning and evenings.
I would always keep tums with me on my first baby. When it was really bad and a tums didn't help I would drink a glass of milk and that would take care of it.
I think u should check with your doctor to be sure what is safe to take
Only thing that helped me was pepcid
Tums work for me, usually just one gets rid of it. Sometimes milk helps, or sitting up for a few minutes. Or lately, putting my hands just under my boobs and pushing down gently on my abdomen relieves the pressure on my stomach.
