I have severe scoliosis and 6wks pg

I have severe scoliosis which I have had 2 major back surgeries. All but three of my lower vertebrates are fused and I have titanium rods running up both sides of my spine. I am so worried about giving birth the doctors say it's ok and I know I need to trust them I am just a little scared. Does anyone have any advice?

I had surgery for my scoliosis my sophomore year of hs. I didn't have any problems with my firstborn and the results of my surgery was a spinal fusion and I have rods. No complications this time but since my surgery was done so long ago my parents couldn't seem to find my xray films I went with natural delivery didn't want to take the chance of having epidural because I didn't know the exact placement of rods. Good luck to you moms everything will be fine don't worry.

Yeah as @BearHunterMomma27 said you'll need to talk to your doctor my doctor made me get a copy of my xrays which showed that I couldn't get the epidural due to a curve being where it is supposed to go so I got the spinal with my csections

I would talk more.with your.doctor about your concerns.  I'd ask about pain relief as.it may be hard to get an epidural and with your rods I'd guarantee youll want.something for the pain. Maybe discuss the risks of vaginal and c sections with them?,or even get a second opinion.  I don't have scoliosis but I've had a vaginal and c section and honestly my section was better than my vaginal. Good luck momma.

Hi I also have severe scoliosis and have titanium rods in my back unfortunately I have a curve at the very bottom of my back that tilts my pelvic bone making it to where I have to have csections but I have known a few other people who have given birth with no problem
