Thanks everyone. It is much better now. I just have to really watch and make sure he gets a deep latch. I think we are good to go. :)
I found out I was pregnant with my second a month before my daughter turned 2 and I really wanted to wait until she was 2 to wean her, BUT like you it was just painful like for me I didn't have tender nipples it just felt like my milk was drying up or something like I didn't have enough to give her so I nursed for a tiny bit longer and then out of discomfort stopped a week before she turned 2. She took it pretty well and for the first few months she would keep her hand down my short or pull my shirt down just enough to put her head against my boobs, I knew she missed it but I'm 26 wks pregnant now and she's perfectly accepted it now. No need to have unnecesary discomfort. Make the decision that's right for you. I wanted to stop at 1 with her but she didn't seem ready and then when I finally did I knew that she'd be fine. It's all about what's best for your family and you. Even if it's just about your discomfort, the kiddo will adjust just fine. Best wishes
I nursed my oldest all the way through my second pregnancy and it was really uncomfortable all the way up untill my second son was born. I'm so glad I stuck with it for him because he has a dairy allergy and I felt like he needed the extra nutrition. I'm now 10 weeks with my third baby and still nursing my 21 month old. I do however feel like I want to wean my second son before this baby arrives because it is really hard for my mom who took care of my oldest while I was at hospital. It's a big undertaking but I was glad to do it then, not so much now...
Ouch! I'm so sorry. I can imagine. I actually decided to wean my son a month before pregnant, because I dreaded that. However, my son still wants to nurse and (it's been over 4 months since I stopped nursing him) tries to just caress my breast with his hand and that alone hurts so I can only imagine. Are you using like butter cream for your nipples, it might help ease the pain.
