Induction

What's the induction procedure? Did the Gynae use pills, injection, drip or gel? Is epidural optional? I'm considering induction next week, please help me relax. I hate injections.

Its the man-made drug that's supposed to be like the hormone that causes contractions. I've heard that if you get pricing, the contractions come on quicker and stronger rather than being built up gradually like they would come naturally.

Theyre giving me the cervidil before the pitocin. & if I'm more dilated when they check me again she said she would just break my water for me and see what happens. I don't want pitocin if I can avoid it!

Step 1-potocin (spelled wrong) to start contractions
Step 2- cervidil (spelled wrong) a paper like insert on your cervix to help dilate
The wait was awfully long

1st kid- it took 7am until 7pm to have a vaginal delivery
2nd kid- it took 7 am until 11am by emergency csection
3rd kid- scheduled csection
This baby- repeat scheduled csection

I'm going tmrw afternoon and they're going to insert a pill up there to help me dilate. The way I understood it was that they'll send me home after that and see if I get some more contractions going.. I'm nervous about it all. But I heard the pitocin stuff makes the contractions come on quicker and stronger so it might be more painful that way. I'm hoping everything goes well for you! Hope baby decides to come on his or her own :)

So I opted to get the epidural so I wouldn't be in labor for 24+ hours. Good luck

I got induced with my first. They us a iv to push the pitocin. I wanted to go natural so decided to not have the epidural. 7 hours into labor they told me my body couldn't relax enough so I wasn't dialating
