Infant carseats

So I have had the graco Snugride platinum for my last two kids.  I just reused the same one.  This carseat is now 4 years old and been through two kids.  Is it still up to par or should we be getting a new one? Its not that we cant pull money together to buy a new one and definitely will if it is safer but no one is helping us even with clothes for this baby...and being baby was a wonderful suprise we had donated everything over a move planning to have sugery for my husband so we couldnt have more.  I had asked over the holidays and my birthday for things for baby but for some reason no one is getting into this baby so the only one that did was my mom getting me the ergo so I could chance the others with baby strapped on lol.  So any who sorry I am a rambler but would it be safer to get a new carseat? It seems like a lot of moms get a new infant one for each child.

Oh ok ty! I saw the 75$ one on Amazon but a review online said you have to adjust seatbelt on the back so you cant just do it on the fly :-/ which makes me nervous cuz I always like to adjust everytime I put child in and out.

I heard that they have expiration dates on them. Like they shouldn't be used past a certain amount of time. I would check that and contacting Graco may even have some advice or know if the seat shouldn't be used.

You could get the ssme one for 75 bucks on amazon.  Maybe you can get a new one and return the old one in the box stating that its not what you expected or w.e. but clean it up before doing that lol

Im not exactly sure... I'm reusing the one from my daughter 3 years ago and I'm not sure if time really matters unless they change the parameters for accident safety. I read once that after 3 years to buy a new one but I dont know what the reason would be.
