Fertilization by inserting semen through a dropper

I am unable to ejeculate inside my wife during normal sexual intercourse.  Now we are planning for a baby.  For this I masterbate and collect the semen in a container and through a plastic dropper, I insert it in my wife's vagina.

We are not successful since last 3 months so just wanted to know whether this method of conception is wrong?

AFAIK sperms would die when they come in contact with air. They do live for some time outside the body, but the count of living sperms in the sample would be way lesser. Sperm donation is done in special containers. What you are trying is tough to achieve though it may not be impossible. If it were easy enough, doctors would not be making so much money on IUI procedures ( articial insemination).

Keep trying and have fun! Putting too much pressure on yourself or your lady isn't great conditions for conception either. If  nothing works, I think its at the 2year mark that you should consult fertility specialists. Enjoy each other! :)

I guess I should concentrate more on doing it natural way.

My lesbian friends did this with a turkey baster lol worked the first time for them.. they did alot of research on ovulation and all the other good stuff.. just had their baby a month ago

Sperm can live outside the body. Also if it did have such a high chance of dying so easily we wouldn't have sperm donations. Also I'm sure it can live for a day or so without being froze

I was just (politely) wondering why you can't ejaculate from actual sex? I ask because I used to have an ex who had a hard time doing that and when I read up on it and consulted my gyno about it, alot of the information said it  was because some men self pleasure themselves so much that the friction from actual sex wasn't enough compared to that of their own hand. And that if they refrained from masturbation the sensitivity would return and then they may start to be able to orgasm from sex. I hope that doesn't sound insulting in any way. Maybe that's not your case! I just thought I would ask and share my past experience

You have less then 2hrs of a window for the sperm  tks live... 30min max would be safe guess outside the vagina. Plus you might not be getting it in high enough! It needs to reach the cervix to even have a chance. Encourage an orgasm after! It helps move things...

I think a fertility specialist is better suited to answer your question. If psychological reasons are a factor in your performance, then you'd be better off addressing those issues first. If proper friction during intercourse is causing the issue then I suggest an adult store for assistance. We have no way of knowing if your method is working. Millions of sperm alone are removed with the penis during withdrawal.  Most of the visble sperm are expelled close to the cervix during ejaculation.

I agree, I'm not sure how effective that method is. One thing that may help is to track your wifes ovulation days.

If you can't ejaculate inside her during intercourse for whatever reason why not masturbate right outside her and enter when you are about to ejaculate.

I don't think sperm can live that long outside the body... You might be successful your way but at the rate you are going it may take a really long time like maybe even a few years to get enough viable sperm in there.

My husband ejaculated in me during normal intercourse for two years before we even got pregnant.  So... I can just imagine how long it'd take with the dropper method... Especially because half of those sperm are probably already dying by the time you insert them in there and then half of those won't even make.it past the cervix, then even leas of those will travel up the fallopian tubes and then once that journey is complete she has to have an egg all ready to go to get fertilized.  If not the female sperm will die within like 7 days and the male sperm will die much much sooner.
