I feel BH are, or at least, can be painful.  They aren't consistent though.  If they increase in pain level, or in frequency, I'd give your doc a call.

Is it mainly when you move or switch positions? Because that sounds like round ligament pain, just your ligaments stretching. Or does your stomach get hard? If so, that could be real contractions. I wouldn't worry unless they are difficult to walk through or are consistently less than 10 minutes apart for about 2 hours. If that's the case, I'd get checked out. Good luck.

Braxton Hicks aren't painful. Your whole Timmy gets hard as a rock for about 30 seconds if its Braxton Hicks, it feels uncomfortable but not painful.
