i was told to take an over the counter iron supplement once a day beginning second trimester bc my hemoglobin was on the cusp. third trimester my hemoglobin continued to drop so i was prescribed a supplement to take three times a day. it's really hard for me bc of the nausea if i dont eat enough prior so needless to say, I've slacked really bad.

I've been taking iron supplements since I have been 25 weeks pregnant. But be careful with the iron pills because you cab overdose. Just make sure your doctor keeps Checking your levels

I have thalassemia Which is sort of like anemia, I take 3 iron pills a day. I'm 39 weeks and I started my pregnancy at a 9.9 and went down to a 7.7, now at a level 8 can't say they helped a whole lot I'm still more tired than normal, but baby is taking most of it so kinda gotta even it out.

I have low iron, doc said I must take a supplement starting this second trimester. She said that usually women get the supplement in their 3rd trimester but I will get it earlier.. I still don't know how much but I guess is just a regular supplement

Yes, I had low iron with my first. My dr recommended a specific supplement that was a high dose but I can't remember sorry. My iron levels recovered about 6mths after delivery tho.
