The gummies I took were the vitafusion prenatals. They have folic but no calcium or iron so I would alternate between those and children's chewable vitamins. Its important during pregnancy to get extra calcium and iron along with the folic acid.

Yes it's normal, and they have prenatal gummies!  I also have a friend that took Flintstone vitamins with all 3 of her kids, and she has 3 healthy boys!  ( Her Dr. said it was fine) :)

The folic acid is definitely important in those early weeks for brain stem development. Its been shown to reduce all kinds of abnormalities. The iron will depend on your body. Certain pregnancies can make you anemic and you'll need to up your iron, but your doc or midwife can tell you of that later. In prior pregnancies I used to take the kids gummi vitamins that had folic acid, most do, just check. And that was fine. Now they do make the gummis for adult and the vitafusion has a huge amount of folic acid and is fairly easy on the stomach. I had issues with the hard, coated pills.  So hopefully you can find one you like!
As for nausea- I had 0 with my first 4 kids and felt like garbage until about 11 weeks with this one. They are all different. Congrats to ya!

Yes. It is YOUR norm. Every pregnancy is different. Even 2 pregnancies in the same mother can be different. With my first pregnancy I was extremely nauseous constantly vomiting for 3 months, I lived in the bathroom. My second pregnancy was ectopic & I knew right away something was wrong. I'm now 7 weeks pregnant. I get nauseous here & there but no vomiting. Its nothing compared to my first pregnancy. This pregnancy is totally different. My friend had no nausea or vomiting her entire pregnancy & she has a healthy happy normal 5 year old son now. Don't worry & try not to base YOUR normal on someone elses experience. You'll only get yourself all worked up & worried. A gummy vitamin should be ok. I'd see if you can find folic acid because that helps prevent againt neuro tube defects & scientists now believe may cut down on the risk of Autism. Talk to your doctor he may have samples for smaller pills you can try & see if you can swallow those. My pills have DHA pills that come with them. Its good for the eyes & brain

Hi, yes its normal I've had no sickness at all in my pregnancy I'm now 34 wks, as for the folic acid I started taking that before we conceived, I also for told off the midwife it was important to take as it helps with the baby growing I think its something to do with the spine?? Speak to your doctor and see what alternatives there are but I've only taken a pill x
