Is it postpartum depression?

I had my baby feb 18th via cesection. Ive cried twice for no reason at all the firat two weeks and now im feeling that i dont have a connection with the baby. I mean i know shes mine and i do love her so much. But i dont feel that connectionwith her. My husband got to do the skin to skin with her because of my cesection and i wasnt able to move for the first few hours. And im also not breastfeeding. (Thats by choice). Im scared to tell my doc cuz i dont want to get put on any types of meds. What shud i do??

See a therapist! A lot of times insurance will cover it for postpartum depression... he may still want to prescribe something but that stuff only really works in conjunction with therapy. With my last I got really depressed about 2 months later and it went on for way too long because I was embarrassed about it. I really learned a lot. Its way more common than you think and nothing to be ashamed over!

I had baby blues after my csection also. Just make sure you tell your Dr how you are feeling emotionally as well as physically.

Google it, really do your research on it, bc the baby blues can get really bad for some. You aren't alone, and there are other options besides meds. I've read many blogs and articles about moms going through it, bc I did after my first one, and I'm so scared to go through it again with this pregnancy. It's just a relief to know there is help out there, and others know what its like to go through it.

I went thru the same thing and when i told my doc they tried to prescribe me meds, i refused. It was hard but i got over it. It took me awhile to gain that bond/connection with my daughter.
