Is sex safe at 39.4 weeks?

I'm asking this because 2 days ago I had sex and that same night the contractions started and didn't go away until like around 6pm. Sorry for TMI.. Is it still recommended? I do want to go into labor already but don't want to be a risk. Anyone this far along still having Sex?

You can have sex after being dialated but having sex while leaking is putting you at risk for an infection... sex is supposed to help with both dilation and Labor since the semen had a certain chemical in it that helps impressive dilation.

Week the OB hasnt checked me to see if I'm dilated. But, lets say I am; what happens if I have sex and I'm dilated?

Sperm may kick start labor. Sometimes it happens but as far as the little ones health there shouldn't be any issues.  If you are dilated or your water breaks or leaking then you don't want to have sex.

39.4 weeks? Youre almost there and going into labor now wouldn't interfere with your childs development :)
just have sex, if the baby wants to come it will come.. :)
but I'm no expert, just my gut feeling is that I wouldn't worry about delivery now as too early.. its time soon anyway.. I don't think days make a difference :)
