16 weeks and no belly and worried

I am a first time mom and i am 16 weeks and i have a very small bump looks just like a gained a few pounds. I been very sick since i got pregnant and been in hospital twice for dehydration. So i have lost about 5 pounds before i started gaining. I feel like i should actually have a big baby bump now but dont. Is it normal that my belly is not really showing yet? Been to the doctors for checkups and all looks good. Just wanted to see if other moms showed late.. Thanks for the help ladies

I really wouldn't worry, with my first I had a tiny bump right until around 25 weeks, not sure how much weight I gained as I stayed of the scales but I know I did lose weight in the first trimester due to sickness. I'm 11+3 with my second, have gained 6lb (despite sickness and eating no different) and have a very noticeable bump all at the front. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. You'll have a blooming bump in no time ;)

Thanks ladies helps me feel a little bit less nervous. I am only 5.1 and weighed 124 to start lost weight due to sickness and was about 120 so i guess i am kinda tiny. I also told my husband i think i am carring towards my back cause the weight i have gained seems to be around my back and love handles. I go next week for my 17 week check up so once i hear heartbeat again and doctor tells me all is okay i will feel much better...

It depends on what time you are before you hot pregnant but also its not uncommon for ftm to not start showing until a lil later. You have to remember this is the 1st time your body has done this so your stomach muscles have never stretched this & neither has your uterus. I promise you get a belly when you do & nothing fits & your back hurts from it you won't it anymore...lol.

It also depends on your frame and how much you weigh. I was 129 before I got pregnant. And I'm about 5'2". But I was exercising and pretty fit before. My little baby bump didn't really make herself known to the world until about 18 weeks. I was also freaking out because I wasn't gaining too much weight in the beginning. I'm 34 weeks and have gained about 20 lbs. Don't worry just yet. My appetite didn't really pick up until mid second trimester. :)
