I don't know much about induction personally, as this is my first pregnancy. But I was just reading in this really interesting book called "do chocolate lovers have sweeter babies?" (By Jena Pincott) that there is some scientific evidence to suggest that nipple stimulation may induce labor naturally due to certain hormonal triggers. Might be worth a try! good luck!
The contractions are worse and it can take a lot longer. I was induced with my first and I was in labor for 49 hrs. My second o e she was her in 3hrs.
I was induced with my youngest daughter. I had complications due to placenta accreta (not related to the induction). I wasn't dilated either. I honestly didn't notice a difference until my accreta caused us to go in for emergency c-section. Remember, don't believe everything you read. Every pregnancy is different, every delivery is different. Don't psych yourself up. The stress of worrying won't make it better and will only cause you more distress. I know it's scary. I've been there. Try to relax. Walk! Walking helps relax those muscles, strength them out and can induce labor and help ease the pain of contractions. Remember to breathe and take one step at a time. Good luck to you!
It is totally normal to go past your due date. I went past 2 days with my first and 8 days with my second. No induction necessary- and most women don't need it. The due date is an estimate only anytime between 38-42 weeks is normal. Induction does increase the pain level as well as increase the need for pain relief and the need for c sections. I'm sure you'll go into labor on your own when the baby is ready. There's lots of things to do that many people swear by- sex, nipple stimulation, walkIng, using a birth ball, warm bath, eating pineapple or spicy food. All safe and fun to try:) You'll get there mama!
Thanks guys. Fingers crossed
