Kyri Rayne is here!!

My induction (39 weeks) was supposed to start at 7:30pm on Dec 15, but I couldn't get a room til about midnight. 2 unexpected girls came in to deliver so we got off to a late start. About 1am the cervix softening med was put in. After the 12 hour wait, it was taken out & I was supposed to start pitocin at 2pm but once again 2 unexpected ladies went into labor so they were holding off. About 2:30 my contractions got really bad but I had to wait on the anesthesiologist, which was busy with the others already in labor. They gave me an IV pain killer to hold me over. I was told I could have it again in an hour & they'd break my water as soon as I received the epidural. An hour & 15 mins later I was able to get the epidural finally. Unfortunately, that wasn't fast enough. Within 5 mins, while waiting for my dr to arrive, I got that 'need to push feeling'. My membrane started coming out before he even got there & hadn't ruptured. The nurses said they'd never seen that before (which is not what u wanna hear). I couldn't wait any longer to push so the on call dr was brought in until my on got there 5 mins later. Even tho this is my second child, I didn't realize an epidural took so long to take effect. It was able to take some pain outta the contractions, but it didn't help with anything else. So I was able to feel her coming out. I have a whole new respect for the ladies that choose to go natural. U are amazing b/c that is some real pain!! But within 20 min of finally getting the epidural, my beautiful baby girl was here. She was only in the 22 percentile at at 4lbs 2oz in her 34 week ultrasound, so I was very surprised that she weighed 7lb 10oz. The ppl from the NICU had to be called b/c she kept falling asleep & ' forgetting to breath' b/c of the stadol (painkiller I was given during labor). But within a few min, it had worn off & she was very alert. I had a very tough pregnancy & her birth did not go as planned. Not even close. But she's so worth it. Thanks for reading my story & good luck with ur own lil bundles of joy!!
