hospital visit

So my step sister just got out of surgery. She had a hysterectomy, a hernia in her stomach repaired, and they removed a kidney from one of her 2 kidney transplants. I'm wondering since I have a 7 week old, if I should avoid seeing her at the hospital. Opinions?

I work in a hospital and I have never had a problem with my son. They are more likely to get sick from daycare. I would recommend going and seeing your sister. Usually children under 12 are not allowed. I would just make sure that when ypu get home that you take your clothes off and shower before handling your baby.

I'm torn which is why I wanted opinions lol. She is in Seattle while I live in one of the suburbs about an hour away with no traffic...which means missing a feeding and pumping enough for an extra bottle. Not sure if the wing would have sick people. UW is usually pretty good about grouping people but not sure with rooms post surgery.

Hmmmm, thats an iffy one, depends on whether you're going into a sickly area............I was scared to take Bailey anywhere until he'd had his first shots at 6 weeks old, after that i relaxed a little. Then again, i guess they could just as easily catch anything being at the mall, or at the park...you do what feels comfortable.

They usually don't let u bring such a new baby into where there's sick people. I know because my daughter was still a baby baby when my ganny got sick and was in the hospital. So I would send well wishes with other family members or get a baby sitter.
