Lost mucus plug!!!

I noticed a lot of posts about this but when you lose your mucus plug, does that mean labor is coming soon? I just peed, and there was a cream colored clump with brown thickish blood in it...I was checked this morning which was painful and I'm 1-2 cm and 80% effaced. I'm 38 weeks 4 days. Supposed to get induced Friday. I've been having painless contractions all day as well.

It doesn't mean much. I had my bloody show Christmas eve and it's new years eve and I'm still very much pregnant. I've been having contractions Since Christmas eve as well and Braxton hicks contractions Since week 20. This is baby number 2 for me.

I have read that losing plug doesn't warrant much, could be days or weeks. My doctor has told me though, that after having cervix checked you can have light spotting. I'm 37 weeks and I think I've been losing mine over the last few days and also have painless contractions. Good luck!

I did with my last. Lost plug in shower approx 10am and started getting crampy at about 3pm. Went to hospital and labour was in full force, she was born at 10.45pm that night.  Witb my first I think the same thing happened, went to loo, but didnt see plug, pretty sure I passed it though and son was born 12 hours  later :)
