Low Amniotic Fluid

I went to the hospital for a sonogram and they said my amniotic fluid volume was low. They tested me for leakage and the test came back negative for leakage. I went to the Ob a week and a half prior and she said the amino volume was good. Has this happened to anybody and what was the outcome

At 28 weeks my fluid level was at 9 cm which is on the lower side. The ultrasound tech asked me to drink more than a gallon everyday. I did follow the instructions. 5 days later i had another ultrasound and my fluid level was at 13. Surely water intake helps a lot.

Yes start drinking tons of water. I had to basically have a big glass of water in my hands all day to even attempt to drink the right amount. It's hard drinking that much in one day but 32 weeks is way too early so do what you can on your end to bring your levels up.

At 32 weeks your way too early.. start drink lots of fluid even if u feel u can't anymore. It's so you can start producing more. Cuz it's dangerous for the baby and dangerous also to induce u.

I had unexplained low fluid with both my previous pregnancies my doc had me go in for non stress tests and fluid checks weekly to check baby. My first was delivered at 36+6 because they couldn't find any fluid. And I went into labor on my own with the second at 38+6. They are both happy and healthy.

Right before I turned 37 weeks I went in for my last ultrasound and had low amniotic fluid. Dr said it was either the placenta deteriorating or not enough fluid intake. They put me in the hospital overnight and pumped me with fluids and checked my levels again 24hrs later. My fluids did go up but they had me scheduled for another ultrasound 4 days later and it was low again so being 37 weeks at that point my Dr wanted to deliver. Not having enough fluid is dangerous for the baby so drink water all day everyday. So I ended up having my little one on Sept 8th as opposed to the 21st due to low amniotic fluid. Hope everything works out ok and you and baby have a safe delivery when the time comes.

It ur not 37 weeks or above start drinking alot of water. As we still create more amniotic fluid but it depends on our fluid intake. If ur 37 weeks and above ur doc will induce u. I was induce due to this on my 2 previous pregnancies. This one my fluid is good. The reason they induce u is because the low fluid may but not always be an indicator of the baby's kidneys not working correctly and not filtering the fluid he is ingesting. But it can just be that u are not drinking enough fluids.  And having too much fluid is also an indicator of baby digestive system not working and not swollowing enough fluid. So they may also induce if u have too much fluid.

How many weeks are you? It's difficult for them to tell towards the end. In fact, they are guessing, and it isn't always accurate so they don't have the right to scare people...stay hydrated. Fluids inside do fluctuate.

I haven't had this, mine is actually on the high end. However, if you're not leaking and it's gone up, I wouldn't worry. Just make sure to drink plenty of water, that's one reason it can be low.
