Navymom I know exactly how you feel. I am in law enforcement in a small town in Northern Canada. My hubs is 6 hours away and has been through my whole pregnancy. Its hard when your coworkers are mostly men and typically don't get it esp when you are forced from active duty because of "your condition". If you ever want to chat I am here and know exactly what you are going through.
Rockrose, I hear what you're saying and for the most part I would agree. I'm not sure what the issue is with THIS town, but I've reached out to families here for the past year and a half, and I'm not okay with the mess. I appreciate your insight.
I know how you feel navymom, neither my man or I are in service but he does work in colorado and I'm in WI and it is in deed very lonely. Hard not having anyone to help or even to just communicate with.
NavyMom, small military towns can be the best resources for friendships that you will ever experience in your life. Reach out to others who are in your situation.
When your baby comes, you feel even more lonely than you do now if you don't develop friendships with other women and young mothers. You will need that support.
